Hey all. Just registered to the site tonight and hoping to get some help.
I'm simply trying to get my DV Camcorder movies onto a couple Video CDs. I figure it beats transfering them to VHS and I have waaaay more Cd-Rs than VHS tapes to use.
I have Premier 6.0 and I get my video capture by way of Firewire. I got a plug in called bbMPEG at someone's suggestion but I keep trying to encode a DV Avi and everytime I try to encode it and then make a VCD with easy CD Creator, it says the file is wrong. bbmpeg has alot of options, and so does premier. Can someone tell me an easy way to do what I want? I've tried the default options and it didn't help. Any help would be most kind.
Thanks.

This site is the place to look. As always, soak up the guides on the LEFT <--.
Short answer.
Export audio separately as wav. MAKE SURE it is at 44.1kHz and NOT the default DV rate of 48kHz. Premiere will do SRC, but it's not the best. I'm currently doing some technical tests and will soon put out a post that show which apps do the best SRC. For now, suffice to say CoolEdit is great! Read the How tos.
Encode audio to mp2, probably via TMPGEnc. Read the How tos.
If you want to use bbMPEG, that's fine but it's kinda slow compared to more recently updated apps (CCE, TMPGEnc, Ligos). Just do video here. Use stock VCD template for starters, before you learn more and start changing things to your liking. Read the How tos.
Mux either w/ bbMPEG or TMPGEnc (my preferred) as VCD standard. (I'm assuming you're doing a std VCD here). Read the How tos.
Now your files should be acceptable to your VCD authoring app (EZCD creator IIRC, although there are much better and freer ones).
Good luck,

zeonstar. Find MPEG Properties in the TOOLS section to the left. Examine your MPEG to make sure it's VCD compliant. The specs for VCD can be found here:

Making a VCD with TMPGenc is pretty much a drag and drop operation. It's a good place to start for newbies. Just use the wizard in TMPGenc to create a standard VCD.Impossible to see the future is. The Dark Side clouds everything...
