I have an AVI movie clip that I am playing in Zoomplayer. However the quality degrades quite abit in double size video mode. I am reading the Help, of course, on the zoom player to see if I can improve the quality. My question though is would it just be better to convert the AVI to a different format? What would have the best quality at double size or even full screen format?
This is not a question about burning to cd. I don't even have a burner, just want to improve the quality though zoomplayer.

You can't improve the quality of a movie by converting it. Nearly every conversion comes with a LOSS of quality! But you could try to apply some filters with VirtualDub. First you would need a Precise Bicubic resize filter to enlarge the video, then preview the video and check if you need p.e. a sharpen filter.
If you get the possibility to convert/burn it to SVCD, try that, a hardware MPEG2 decoder (as in a DVD player) has a great error correction. Sometimes an SVCD in a stand-alone DVD player looks better than the AVI it was converted from. There are only 10 types of people in the world:
Those who understand binary
and those who don't.
