Hi all,
I'm a little annoyed with my ATI 8500DV ( all in wonder ) videocard,
ok this card works great, but I can't get it to record to .avi format.
My old Matrox G200 could record to .avi or .mpg
* ATI uses their own ".VCR" format, which is high quality, but it doesn't let you view this format in anything BUT their software, which renders it useless to anyone else, or even for conversion to another format.
** this is what I wish to do, record shows for my kids off the TV, and then make those file into SVCD format .
VCD format is just terrible, and is not high enough quality, but if I record
in any of the other .mpg formats ... meaning mp2 formats, Windows Media Player 9 spits at it and shuts down, - even TMPGenc doesn't like it, and nor does VCDEasy.
All i want is a high quality .avi which I can then convert to SVCD......
does anyone have any tips, or info, I would be very greatful.
thanks in advance,
Mark.
