Stripping video and menus from a DVD-9

I originally posted this question in the nebie discussion area, but got no responses, So i figured I would give it a try here


I am pretty new to DVD ripping, and have only been doing it for about 3 weeks.

I understand how to copy a DVD-5 to DVD-r, and how to strip the movie from a DVD-9 to burn to a DVD-r, but was wondering if this is possible.


Can you strip the Menus from a DVD-9 along with the movie and have it work on a DVD-r?

I have been playing around with some s/w and figured out how to find the vob that contains the Menus, but when I play it, it just cycles thru all the menus really quickly. What do need to do to have the menu freeze at each page? and how do I link each menu item to something in the movie?


Im guessing (although Im sure Im wrong) I need to create some dummy vob files and edit the IFO but I am totally lost.

I really dont care about any menu items except for the orignal chapter menus and the Root menu splash screen.
