  1. Right now I have a 2 year old Sampo that plays everything. However I am looking to get a complete home theater system with progressive scan. Does anyone know any units that will play what my sampo does mpeg/vcd/svcd/just about everything? I am looking at either a Sony/Pioneer/Kenwood.

  2. hi,

i have a Sony DAV-C770 Which Playes every thing vcd/svcd/cvd/mp3/DVD+R/-R/+RW/-RW. i have tested all these. and for the price of about 470$ this is a dam good system with 550 W out put. But it has a Subtitle Glitch which will automaticaly switch the subtile on when it changes the layers on a dual layer DVD. Other than that i never had any Problems so far. it plays every thing i through in. But i have not tested any Xvcd /Xsvcd. This is a prograsive scan has component input/svedio input and the size is same as any normal DVD player. i love the system. it has Dolby digital 5.1/ DTS 5.1 in built decoder more over this one is a 100 % digital Amplifier. But if You are thinking of for a Big Theater set up like a separate theater set up then Go with some reciver and speaker system. But if You want a Out of box all in one home theater system and on a Butget this is the One. I will recomend this to any one.

  4. i have a pioneer dvd player that plays all files(minus divx).
all depends on what you want to spend. the pioneers are reasonably priced. i would suggest going to the dvd players list and sorting them with the highest rated option. then read away http://www.vcdhelp.com/dvdplayers.php
find a brand that plays all and suits you. then find an entire system they make
