    I've downloaded some Friends avi's from Kazaa and convertedthem fine, but when I download a mpeg the picture quality is much betterthan I can do it using the guide to Tmpeg word for word - does anyone know how I can improve the quality?

    hmmm, we dont know what birte you use for video and what is used for the mpg that you downloaded. also the resolution size?

    Mention more info about your files and files downloaded that you like.

    What is the quality of the original downloaded avi's. I have seen some and they are pretty poor. Just remember if you have a poor source, your encode will also be poor.

    It is probrably just a fact that the mpeg you downloaded was much better quality to start with than the avi you downloaded.
