Hi,
I have used vcdhelp for a number of months to solve problems I have had with playing vcds and it is extremely helpful.
However, now I want to start ripping dvds. If I don't have a dvd drive in my computer (I have cd and cdr drives), is there any way of doing it either by the use of a virtual drive or some software which recognises the files on the dvd even though the drives that I have installed at the moment cannot.
Thanks,
Jon

Internal DVD drives are relatively inexpensive. I suggest you replace the CD drive with a DVD drive. The Lite-On DVD drives are high quality and get good reviews. You can get a Lite-On 16x DVD drive for under $50 USD at newegg.

Jon - no way to read a DVD without a DVD drive. You can play with VOBs from a DVD if someone with a DVD drive rips the disk for you. Only other option is to find a cheap drive. During the Holiday sales they are sometimes advertized cheap to bring you into the store.
