I ordered Accu media (from Meritline.com) but when I look up Manufacturer ID with ADVDInfo it looks like it is Ritek. Is this OK or somebody is trying to take advantage of me (possible price difference)? Here is my ID
00 6A 00 00 01 40 C1 FD 9E D8 50 00 02 37 0E 0B .J...@....P..7..
FE FF 80 00 03 52 49 54 45 4B 47 00 04 30 33 00 .....RITEKG..03.
Can other people look if what ID is on their Accu (silver/purple) DVD-R ?

What's it matter? Accu's work great and are really cheap!! Why worry about the silly stuff?

It is maybe that I don't know too much about how it work with DVD-R media. When I looked up ID in DVDR Media list here it cane up as
00 42 00 00 01 40 C1 FD 9E B3 50 00 02 7A 0C 15 .B...@....P..Z..
77 78 90 00 03 4C 44 00 00 00 00 00 04 00 00 00 WX...LD.........
So how do I know that madia that I received is Accu and not something else ? There is nothing on top that will indicate what kind of media it is. I guess based on your answer .... it doesn't metter what ID is on disk. -
OK. I tested rhis media with Sony DRU-500A 1.0f.
Ot the beggining RecordNow and Nero was complaining about some errors with disk, but on the end I was able to burn it with Nero. Nero was trying to convince me that this will burn 2x, but because I turn on real burn speed in Nero, it actually burned at 1x. Buffer level was jumping from 5% to 80% and spees from 900kb to 1700kb. Result is that I have DVD that I can play on 2 different DVD players. So I am "kind of happy". I will have to look into thet error massage later. -
hey donny p, ritek manufactures its media for several different companies/names they also produce primedisc, but depending on you frimware you can burn those puppies at 2x no problem, the error thats popping up in record and nero will most likely be a media compatibility error or and bogus check the disc its scratched, in record now you can get the error info when you using the wizard, in actuallity there might be a problem with the VIDEO_TS file, record is good about checking this file to make sure everything that is need for playback is there before it lets you burn. Why it spits out a media type error who knows. Make sure all the menus and required vobs are in the folder and your kosher.

Now I am confused even more. Are you saying that it is OK if one batch is made by "LD" (from DVDR Nedia list here for ACCU) and another by RITEK ?
Problem (or more question) that I have is..... How do you know with these cheap (no information on top of the disc) media that they are really Accu ? -
i know that the guys over at www.firmware-flash.com in the dvdr sections have several lists with all the manufactures serial info of the disks and have there compatibilities listed. check out that site ill look around to find out more on accu, as for checking them youll have to read the date like ya have been 2 make sure
