According to the DVD players compatability list the DVP325U does not support SVCD.

Welcome to VCDHELP.COM, by the way. -
ohh damn ur right, thanx bro...but if i make a VCD will the quality be as good as SVCD?
-
No, because the bitrate for SVCD can be up to 2520kbps, VCD is limited to 1150kbps. The resolution is also greater for SVCD, 480x480 for ntsc, compared to 352x240 for VCD. What you could do though is make an XVCD, this is a non-standard VCD, this way you could use a higher bitrate which will produce a better quality image.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if he is having trouble reading SVCD on his DVD player, wouldn't he also have the same problem reading a XVCD? Just asking.

WAIT JUST A ROOTEN TOOTEN SECOND!!!!
before u delete that awesome MPEG2 file try this:
1. open up TEMPGEnc
2. click FILE ---> MPEG Tools
3. make sure its on multiplex and click add video source ( the mpeg2 file).
4. select your video
5. keep the audio the same, then create an output file name.
6. don't hit run yet, right above the Video Source, there should say something that says MPEG2 - VIDEO VGA or something. click that and scroll down to MPEG1 Standered. click that.
7. now hit run. don't care about the Buffer Underflow
8. open up NERO.
9. Make a VCD and turn of the 'Making a Standered Compliant CD'!!!! make sure that there is no X in that box. if u cant find that click File---> Compliances.
10. add your newly multiplexed file and burn it.
now what you just did was create an MPEG2 file with a VCD heading.
In normal language, you are tricking your DVD into think that your playing a VCD but your not!
Gurus at this website, did i write this correct? -
Yes, this is another option that may or may not work with your DVD player. I tried it on my DVD player which does not play SVCD's and unfortunately it did not work. But it does work for some players.

Hey Craig Tucker, is my VCD heading post correct?
Cause i've read some tricks and when Multiplexing, it says that you should make it an MPEG 1 (non standered)
Or is it MPEG 1 (standered)???? -

So I would try it non standard first, and if this does not work try using standard, and if this does not work. Give up
