Hello all,

I have read some questions about burning DVD+R, the SONY DRU500A and NERO.

I had some bad experiences also. When NERO tried to perfom the DAO command (at the end of the burning process) it failed. Al lot of failed DVD+R (several brands) discs.

I changed two things at the same time.....
The solution for me was :
1) update to firmware version 1.0f
2) after contacting the NERO helpdesk, I was advised to do the following: Uninstall NERO completely and install it again.
Before installing a new version of NERO, you need to remove the old version completely from the harddisk and register. To do this follow the next steps:
1. first step is addd/remove program in your Control panel. Look for Nero Burning Rom, highlight it and then click on Remove.
2. go to the C-drive, double click it then look in the folder program files for Ahead. Just right click on it and delete it.
3. go to your start button, click on Run and type in regedit then click OK. Then double click Hkey_current_user, then click on Software, then find Ahead and right click it and delete it. And then double click Hkey_local_machine then click on Software then find Ahead and right click it and delete it.
NERO should be uninstalled now. Then you can install it again, using your serial number.
This works for 5.5.9.14, 5.5.9.17 and 5.5.10.0

I hope this helps for a lot of you Sony and NERO users.

Best regards,
Remko
