  1. I am trying to take a a DVD I made (using iDVD) and create a videotape for a relative that doesn't have a DVD. I deleted the source movie.

    I downloaded OSEx.

Question #1: What does Ripping a DVD actually do? When I open the DVD in the finder, it has a bunch of VOB files in a directory called VIDEO_TS. It appears that the output of OSEx is also a VOB file. What is the difference?

Question #2: What does 'program stream', and 'elementary stream' mean? Which should I use? I read several posts where people suggest using both. huh?

Question #3: Can I use AfroPic to convert the VOB output of OSEx to something that I can import into iMovie (since my final step will be to export from iMovie back to the camera)?

I Really appreciate your help in this! I will owe someone big time!

Or just copy the DVD with Toast. If it is a home made DVD it is 4.7 Gig so it should easily copy to another DVD-R
