  1. hello

    i bought a couple of vcd's some of them are runing on both
    vcdplayer n pc but a couple of them not running on pc..i get invalid
    file format errors when i run using media player..and sometimes i get
    the error that cd is not formatted..it doesnt even recognizes that
    there is a cd in the cdrom... can anyone please help?? do i need any
    codec..is there anyway to make vcds s that they only run on stand alone vcd players n not on computers..if there is than is there anyway out?? im really stuck here!!! pleaaasee help

  2. If you make a VCD with a corrupted filesystem (or does not contain one), it will not play on your PC. However, it will still probably work properly on a stand-alone VCD player as they don't really look at the filesystem.

    You could try to use CloneCD / CDRWin to extract an image of the disc and then use some tool (e.g., VCDGear or ISOBuster) to extract the MPEG out of the disc.

    thanks for the tip.. i will try it..but will CloneCD / CDRWin read from the vcd when windows is saying that the cd is not formatted??

  4. I've never tried it myself as I don't have one of these VCDs, but it is probably your best bet... BlindRead is another option...
