  1. Hi everybody,

    I wonder if there is a stand alone Dvd/Divx player that can play Divx in HD?
    And by that I mean some brand names, not some "kung foo" dvd player

    what is your prediction ? when will they start manufacturing in large quantities?

    When I say HD I mean true HD resolution (at least 780p) encoded movies from original blue laser or hd dvd format, not hd upconversion.

    They all use variations of the Sigma Designs EM8620 chip.
    And no they won't play HD/BD DVD.

  3. Is there any other chipset that is possible to do that? And any other brands (philips, pioneer, sony, pansonic...)
