  1. I receive the following errors when trying to create a disk image under IfoEdit v0.95:

"Can't find the command interpreter in the file "c:\windows\command.com"

    -and-

"Could not create a substatiated drive for image-creation. "

I have PLENTY of hard drive space and I am using a new version of Windows XP with all updated patches.

Any thoughts on what is going wrong here and how I can fix? Thank you.

  3. i get can't find imgdll.dll error.

Here is where you will find it:

    Go to:
    http://www.doom9.org/

Click DOWNLOAD on the left side of your screen

Go down the page to VOB Tools (show me more)

Click on (show me more) to expand the list of available downloads. Now you will see
ImgTool 0.89 - DVD image generator. Contains imgtool.dll which allows IfoEdit to write DVD images

Download this file and install in the same directory as IfoEdit.

    sprit1one,

In addation to the actual image software, the image creation program uses the DOS command SUBST - this essentially creates a new drive mapping from a subdirectory - thus letting you create a 'virtual' VIDEO_TS DVD from within a subdirectory.

Therefore you need to ensure that you have SUBST and it's in your DOS/Windows path - (ie c:\windows\system32\subst.exe).

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers,

Help! I downlaoded ImgTool and am still having problems. First, when you say install in the same director as IfoEdit, do you mean that literally? That is, the application, the .dll's or all of it. Right now I have both in a common but separate subdirectory.

Second, I'm not sure how to create an image from this tool. Do I execute the ImgTool application or do I run IfoEdit and it will "see" ImgTools? I ran from the ImgTools application directly and could figure it out from the abbreviated instructions, specifically, I don't understand the "prepare drive" options. "Select Source Dir" makes sense, by "select drive" isn't one of my available drives. How does this "make drive"? What's going on here?

    Thank you.

    sprint1one,

unzip the files into the SAME folder as your IFOEdit directory - ie if your IFOEdit folder is c:\IFOEdit then extract your IMG files to c:\IFOedit - do not extract to something like c:\IFOEdit\IMG\ as it will not work.

    Using it...

As per my previous post - the image tools are ripped off tools from another UNIX based package - and requires the files in VIDEO_TS to be on the ROOT of the system - ie c:\VIDEO_TS or whatever. Because most people use subdirectories - a command called SUBST is run to make a 'virtual' drive letter from a subdirectory. ie c:\test\myvideo now becomes z:\ Within this you should have a VIDEO_TS etc with all your files in. (ie really c:\test\myvideo\VIDEO_TS\vob1... blah blah)

Therefore when asked for the location of the files - put in c:\test\myvideo (as in the baove example) and it will create a drive letter for you (you select the letter). Put this drive letter into the second part of the screens (plus a DVD label) , give the location of the destination image file (not the same as the virtual drive!) and click on 'create DVD image' - it will then create the image file. Make sure your image file has the extension .ISO or .IMG otherwise your burner probably won;t recognise it.

I hope this helps - if not the readme.txt file has more info !

    Cheers,

    TeeeRex.
