I thought of something that might work, but haven't tried. I see that the entire set of VOB files on some DVD discs are less than 4GB. Has anyone tried to copy those VOB movie files, hacked into the IFO file and copied them onto a DVD-R? My theory is that because it uses the original (non-reencoded) VOB files, you'll get a DVD to DVD-R copy with no quality loss.
Anyone?

why would you need to hack the ifo's???
seriously..this is how most people backup single layer dvd's
There is no reauthoring (Other than a get vts sectors in IFOedit) and no Ifo hacking.
on the main page (www.vcdhelp.com) right in the center you will see the latest posts guides on DVD2DVD-R copying as well as other guides. It hink you'll find they all mention the above. -
the easiest way to copy a dvd that is less that 4.7 gigs is to use DVD Decrypter and this is how.
a) Open DVD Decryptor, select to read an ISO Image. Save the ISO image to your hard drive.
b) Select to Write an ISO image, write the ISO image to your DVD-R. Easy!
perfect copy
