NOW WHAT?...All these .vob files..help !!!!!!

Hi.

I have decrypted and now have 5 (I would imagine) large vob files on my computer. The movie is there. I tried to put 1 file on a CD (Burn from Nero) and it's too big!! How to I shrink this down or try to get 2 files on 1 CD. I don't mind the movie being on a couple of CD's but DON'T know which program to use to NOW get the job done.

Please help . Is there an easy solution to this?

All the answers are there. Please READ the guides. They describe in step by step detail on what you have to do.

The decrypted VOB files are the starting point. You do not put these on a CD. You will have to convert them to a suitably speced MPEG file first and then make a VCD or SVCD.

Yes, I don read that information, but not unless your a brain surgeon, your 'step by step' is almost impossible to follow in these guides. PLUS, there's thousands of them to go through to find what you looking for for answers......and you probably won't find it. It's very annoying and dissappointing.

you want a simple way here you go . download dvdx. it will encode to vcd svcd and avi and it will split them into 650 and 700 megs portions so they can be burned to cd. you can add subtitles and chapters if you want. the program is a little tricky because you get some error messages but thats the normal. heres a guide that will help you will dvdx if you decide to use it. http://www.vcdhelp.com/sefy/?id=direct1.html

rjackson, no one here is going to hold your hand and give you everything you want on a silver platter. If you can't follow simple guides (as MANY have done before you) and be willing to spend the time to learn, then obviously this hobby is not for you.

Thousands? I linked to the best guides at doom9 in your previous post and all you have to do is to CHOOSE ONE and FOLLOW the instructions.

If that is too difficult for YOU then it is time for you to just give up and BUY the silly thing.

As I've stated before, I simply don't understand why dickheads like you even bother posting a question on the forums if you aren't willing to read the answer. The guides linked previously are your best reference. They give step-by-step instructions with pictures of all the important screens. It is pretty much pointless for anyone else to post anything on forum on the general method of ripping a DVD as it will simply be repeating what is already written in the guides (with less detail and without diagrams).

If you start one more thread with basically the same question as this one and your previous thread and it is obvious that you again haven't bothered trying to actually READ the ample resources already linked, I will lock that thread and have you banned.

1st. You think you know everything. I do have a lot of patience and maybe I can walk you through some of this confusing stuff.

I do agree that it takes time as I have spent over a year and a half doing this sort of thing. I have the time to help you if you have the time to learn.

You are one of those people who come onto the board with an attitude that you deserve everything in life to be easy. You want someone to hold your hand and wipe your bum. Well wake up to the real world.

This community is already great for beginners as there are plenty of detailed and free resources. To access them, all you need to do is to read though you obviously seem to have a problem there. There is no magic solution. The computer is not going to scan your mind and create a VCD for you. Posting the same question over and over again is not going to give you any other answers.

If more people tell me I shouldn't have called you a "dickhead" than those who do, then I'll retract it. A retraction doesn't seem particularly likely though.

Why don't you get DVD2SVCD. It really is the only freeware that has 'one click' conversion. Go to www.dvd2svcd.org you will also need an encoder try http://www.tmpgenc.net/ It really does not get any easier. It is very frustrating at first, but it is a learning process. I have been at this for about a year now and only now do I feel like I am understanding it.
