    Would differences would I see in converting analogue to digital when using Tivo, all in one, or a matrox product?

    I am trying to archive instructional videos for my students that were filmed using HI 8. What do you all recommend I use?

    I'd suggest a Canopus product, either the ADVC-100 or the ADVC-1394.
    I have the 1394 and it works flawless converting my hi-8 videos to DV.
    No dropped frames and a brease to install.
