I have been using Nero with success but being that I have the newest version, I still have problems closing DVD+R's. I haven't downloaded the version before the last as of yet, which will apparently not create the coasters, and will close out the session. I have been reading that RecordNow Max has been successful for people, and I d/l's the Demo and I'm wondering what mode I should use to create the DVD to play in my standalone player? Once the Wizard starts, should I choose Data CD? That seems like the one I should choose, but I'm not sure. I experimented by choosing "data disk" and adding the AUDIO/VIDEO_TS folders in "caps" but when I started to record, the time showed 55 minutes! Nero usually records at 2x at around 30 minutes, so I didn't understand why there was double the time. I was using a DVD+RW that came with the DRU500a. I don't think that had anything to do with it because Nero burns both the DVD-R AND DVD+RW's at the same speed. My question though is, should I choose that "data cd" and if so, do I need to change any settings anywhere like "joilet?" I have the burn speed set to max. If anyone can tell me what functions to use with this, I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance

Nevermind that post...I experimented with my Verbatim 2.4x DVD+R and it worked great! I burned an entire backup in about 17 minutes! I noticed that there is a different interface if you select "Data" from the tool bar, as opposed to doing it through the wizard. I was able to set all of my options. I am still not sure what Joliet means though, can anyone explain it to me briefly? I know I use Disk At Once (DAO) with Nero, but there wasn't the option with RecordNow. Under "DVD" there was only an option for track at once open and track at once closed I believe. There were also options for "CD" which I didn't think would have any bearing, but just in case I changed the "CD" part to "DAO" and I set Joliet from "CD" and "DVD" to 106 characters. If anyone could just explain to me why there is no "DISK AT ONCE" under the "DVD" tab, and exactly which "JOLIET" option I should use, I would appreciate it. I also noticed that when I play the DVD in my DVD Rom, it shows as "UDF" but it plays. When I put it in my standalone, it plays pefectly as well. I use the DVD tab in Nero and have never had any problems with that, so I guess until Nero comes out with a newer version which corrects that DVD+R 2.4x closing sessions, I will just use RECORDNOW MAX.
