  1. I just got a Memorex 2.4X dvd+r/rw. i believe its the same thing as an aopen 2.4X. Do I HAVE to use DVD+R media in this thing, or can I use DVD-R? (has anyone actually tired to use -R media in a +R writer?)

if I have to use +R media, anyone have a good link to some cheap +Rs?

I will be using this mainly for making movies, so the media needs to work in dvd players, I know some cheap media doesnt.

if I should return this for a -R writer, anyone know where to get one for cheap, I paid $186 for this one at best buy after rebates.

  3. ok, finally figured that out. its not that big a deal, I found media for $2 per disk so its not much more expensive. now I just need to find out if my JVC XV-S65 will play DVD+Rs. I know it plays DVD-Rs, but it has some issue with DVD-RWs. anyone tried this dvd player with +Rs?

  8. Speaking from experience, DVD+R works much better than DVD+RW discs, and they are much cheaper. The more you buy at any one time, the cheaper they are. I've found 100 paks where discs work out to be less than $2 apiece. A word on compatibility, Memorex DVD+Rs and Generic DVD+Rs (both purple on bottom) work even on DVD players that aren't supposed to be DVD+R compatible. What a wonderful surprise! It's like Christmas morning everytime I play a DVD! Yay! (I need sleep )

I just bought 25 DVD+Rs for $49. they have a 100 pack for 1.79 each, not too bad!
