  1. Hi,
When I open DVD with FlaskMPEG, the error message says:
There was a problem with the IFO file. I ripped the
DVD with SmartRipper, and DVD2AVI can read the IFO just fine. The Flask FAQ says it might because of copyright
protection. I just need to make VCD with subtitles.
Did anyone run into this problem with Flask?

  2. FlaskMPEG has its own IFO parser so it needs to have the VOB files in their entirely (minus CSS encryption).

Thus, if you use SmartRipper, you shouldn't use "Movie Mode" which is the default. Rather you should use "File Mode".

Or, you can use DVD Decrypter as a ripper -- which is arguably the best ripper to use with FlaskMPEG.

  3. Hi Michael,
Thanks for the response. I tried again with ripping files option, I got the same error. I only ripped the IFO file and 1 VOB file to test out. Do I need to rip the whole movie? Is the DVD Decrypter a freeware? Where can I get it?

    Thanks in advance,

  4. hi
The problem is You must give the saveed vob files.
when you ripp with smart ripper save them as the orginal name.

    vts_01_1.vob
    vts_01_2.vob

  5. Yes, you need ALL the VOB files in the set.

DVD Decrypter is free and can be downloaded from http://www.doom9.net (go to the download section). However, SmartRipper in "File Mode" is functionally equivalent. Just make sure you rip all the VOB files in the set...

    e.g.,
If you are going to rip vts_01_0.ifo, then you will need all the vob files with the following name: vts_01_?.vob
