    Hallo.
Using TMPGenc I created MPEG clip, which has the following params:
    1) PAL (720x576, 25 FPS interlaced)
    2) it includes sound MP2 48KHz (384 kbps)
So You can see that quality is really good. (the best TMGEnc can offer.
I use the wizzard, so this quality in it is called DVD, whatever it means.)

    3) In VCDEasy I chose option SVCD1.0 and created bin/cue files from my mpeg clip.

    4) For the test, on my PC I:
    a) mounted this bin/cue using virtualDeamon
    b) opened my virtual drive, and run It.
    c) it works quite good (I have PIII500Mhz). No problems with openning
    and starting playing.

    Now my Question:
How do You think, If I burned this Clip on CDROM (not DVDROM)
and run it on standalone DVD player, which can play SVCD
    would it go.
I would like to check it, but I do not wahe a standalone DVD player (

I think this is not the standard procedure because of higher quality than standard SCVD has, but maybe someone thied to do such tricks.

    Greetings

  2. Yes, many before you have tried "such tricks".. You've just made a fairly high bitrate (presumably) and high quality XSVCD.

How well it plays back on a stand-alone DVD player will really depend on the individual players. Some can playback amazingly high bitrates on a CD while others can barely manage a standard SVCD.

Do You suggest that the only problem that can appear is about
performance of standalone DVD player ?
I mainly was affraid that DVD player would see that SVCD
clip he was going to play was for example in higher resolution
than expected for SVCD and then it wouldn't even try to start playing it back.
And You (as far as I understand) say, that it will start playing it
    but there maybe performance problems.
    Do I understand correct ?
    By the way,
    I achieved 8000 kilobitspresecond
Is it high for DVD players ?

I'm going to play it on my friend's DVD player (in january, next year)
    He's got Pioneer DCS303

I tried to find the maximum bitrate, but I didn't.

What your making is just a nonstandard SVCD and its up to the individual dvd player as to whether it will play.

8000 is high considering the standard svcd is approx 2500

of course at this bitrate you will only get about 13 minutes of movie on 1 cd.
