Is it possible to capture from a Digital Cable box using Canopus ADVC-100? Theoretically, I know you can, but has anyone tried and are there any Macrovision-like issues with copywrite protected video transfer?
Someone told me they tried to hook their VCR up to their digital cable box and it blocked the signal from being sent to the VCR.
I guess I could experiement myself, but instead of tackling that spagetti junction of wires behind the tv/stereo, I thought I'd ask first.
Thanks to all!

It's not about getting what you want, it's wanting what you've got

I have capped digital cable before, but actually like the look of regular cable better for capturing.
This is because very few cable services/channels use a high enough bitrate for a satisfactory image quality (when reproduced, and sometimes even for viewing).
I split the signal before it goes into my digital converter, send one to my cap card, the other to the converter.
