  1. I've been trying to gague opinion on what disks the Cyberhome DVD-402 plays and doesn't play. But not a single response. Does NO ONE here own a Cyberhome DVD-402?

I just bought one. It plays some DVD-R, but not those recorded on a Panasonic DMR-E20. I contacted CyberHome and they want to look at my disc. Other DVD players do play DVD-Rs recorded on the E20.

  3. I recently bought this box for ~$69 at Best Buy. I am quite pleased that it plays VCD / SVCD, with multiple audio tracks / MP3 files / MP2 files / MPG video files from a CD-R and CD-RW, as well as all regions of DVD. I have not tried to use XVCD / XSVCD or other unofficial disk formats.

Look over the "DVD Players" reports on this unit:

Not bad for $80! It's got a region hack too. Hell, I'm going to order one just because it's so cheap, and with free shipping I'm not out anything if I return it to my local BB.
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."
