is scratchy dvd why i cant rip goodfellas part B?

i want to back up goodfellas... part a is no prob... dvd decrypter works, clone dvd with anydvd works, dvdxcopy works but for the flip side i keep getting 'encrypted messages wih all appz... is that cause itz scrathed? help.

Very likely that its scratched. I was able to back up side A and B easily, although my original is in new condition.

I have had problems backing up dvd's that are scratched. Try polishing it with toothpaste and a soft cloth, then rinse with water. The toothpaste will polish out some scratches.

In DVDDecrypter go to Tools->Settings->Device and check(tick) Fast Error Skip.Then go to the I/O tab and check Ignore Read Errors.

thanx all... i used dvd decrypter in FILE mode and burned the folder with clonedvd and all worked... i was too lazy to try edit the double-sidedness down to one DVD-R, but i have the movie backed up nonetheless... much appreciated everyone!
