  1. I recently discovered a guide at http://pwp.netcabo.pt/rmn/TMPGEnc_Template.html
that is as well written as just about any guide I have discovered on the web on any subject, let alone video conversion. He goes into detail on just about all available parameters under TMPGEnc, with an emphasis on producing the best quality video for the end product. The site also includes a link to a bitrate calculator.

I searched vcdhelp and found only one reference to the site, so I thought it might be worth posting.

I hope some of you find it as interesting as I did.

    Regards,

    Eric J

I have been using this template for the past few weeks (PAL) and have found it gives excellent results on dvd backups and also encoding from captured avi's. Just did Dances With Wolves (nearly 3 hrs) at 3500 kbs, picture looks great. Authored m2v & ac3 with Ifoedit 0.95.

Had to change the field order to B for the captured avi's due to strange strobe effects
