Yes we all know copying copyrighted vcr's is technically not allowed. I have some really old vcr's that I would really like to save as a vcd to preserve them. When I capture the video to mpeg the dreaded white copy protection fat line covers the captured mpeg.
Question? is there anything out there that might make this disappear while capturing. I'm using an MSI Geforce 4 Ti4200 card.
Being a newbie, I think I need held with this simple question.

You need some device that beats Macrovision protection. Most people use Sima products. Here is a link:

But if the copyrighted material is available on DVD, you are much better off ripping it rather than capturing from tape.
