Hello you guys and girls,
I tried to convert form Mpeg4 (DivX) to Mpeg2 (SVCD). Tools: Tmpgenc and Virtual dub. Settings: Bitrate:2000; Motion Search Precision: High quality (slow); Video arrange method: Full screen (keep aspect ratio). Burned with Nero. But when I'm playing it on my dvdplayer or the one of my friend or even on powerdvd on my pc, every 2-3 seconds it stutters if you know what I mean. I can play SVCD converted from a real dvd. So it has to be my settings or the tool I think. Anyone clever enough to help. Thx 2 u all!

Have you ensured that the framerate of your final mpeg is the same as that of the original avi? If not then the framerate conversion done by TmpGenc would cause some stuttering.

Thx for the reply. Well the original framrate of the DivX is 23,976 so I retried it but then I noticed that the frameratie in Tmpgenc is fix on 25? Can I fix this in some way?

If U cancel the wizard in TMPGEnc (or use the "unlock" template), you can set the frame rate on the Video tab under Settings. If you set this to 23.976 too, the stutter ought to vanish.
