please can you offer any suggetions!!
i have captured from my camcorder using ulead 6 using firewire. converted from AVI to VOB using the wizard on Ulead. produced a lovely DVD-RW disc with menu. BUT although it plays nicely in my pc, my standalone dvd player just spins and then rudely spits the disk out!
the player is a Philips 756. does this mean it does not supprt DVD-RW but instead DVD+RW? am i missing something that i need to do? is it the software or the player?
any advice would be much appreciated. :P

Looking at the DVD players compatability list, that player does not play DVD-R, DVD-RW is unconfirmed, but perhaps you just confirmed it.

Well I don't know where you are, but in the UK the alba DVD114 from argos is an excellent choice. Plays just about everything and is only £69.95. If you are interested search the forum for my posts on the DVD114.

thanks again for replying and sorting my problem out. now i can make dvd-rw of my newborn son and know they will last for a very long time!
thanks again.
also Kathleen, i appreciate your response, thanks for the post.
VERY HAPPY!
take care both of you -
Nivag, try not to be tempted by the cheap media on offer, you will only have problems, l would suggest you try to use Verbatim Datalifeplus at £2.59 each l know it's pricey but at least they will play true to the end.
