i dl a movie 750mb long.. it was svcd... i have only 700mb 80 min.. so how nero lets me burn it without overbuning... the minutes did fit 80 minutes... but so does this mean i can have a 800mb file as long as the its under 80 mins in nero? (40 min vid 40 min audio)
how was this possible?

This has been discussed a number of times in the forums. (S)VCD video and CD audio are burned differently from data, so you can fit around 800MB on an 80-min CD. 700MB is the data capacity, which allows for more error correction.

I think it is because of the amount of data allowed in the sector with a VCD using data mode 02 is more as it does not use full checksums.
{ mode 01 = this will be a 2048 data sector with full checksums }
{ mode 02 = this will be a 2324 data sector with limited checksums }
that is mode 2 allows 276 more bytes per sector but sacrifices checksums.
You could not burn all the data using mode 1 which is used when burning your data files to disc for example.
