screenshots and stills

how can i capture 'stills' from a dvd when im playing it on my desktop ,i use power dvd but will get anyother software i may need, the simpler the better as im just starting out with all this,so if the answers really easy forgive my ignorance.

Ok open power dvd and goto configurations > general > advanced and change ' captured aspect ratio ' to current window video size,click ok.
Now when playing your movie click on the button that looks like a camra,called capture frame.
Then open up paint shop pro or a piant/picture program and paste.

And theres your still image of a part of your video.

ive just installed hypersnaps and windvd and with windvd it wont capture,and with hypersnaps even though it takes the picture when i open the file its just a black sceenshot?????
