  1. Anybody know why I can only set the audio in DVDIT pe to 256 kbs? It wont let me select any higher on my xp machine. On win98 I can get to 448 if I dink with it awhile. Is this just an xp thing?

    Just I want to add to your question if you dont mind, I too have the same problem with DVDit it wont let me go beyond the 256kbs, but I also have the problem that everytime I add a ac3 file to the video, I get and error and will can not get it to work. If anyone can help us both.

  3. I think DVDit only supports 2 channel Dolby.

  4. Well Luisma, I guess nobody out there knows the answer to these DVDIT issues. Maybe somebody can at least answer this: Is there even a big difference between 448kbs vs. 256kbs ??? Is the quality really that much different. Please give me your opinions.

    DVDit PE only supports 2 channel AC3, so 256kbs should be more than sufficient quality wise if you think that 5.1 is often encoded at 384.

Well I was just wondering because I want to know if I should just let DVDIT encode the audio to 256(since that is all I can get it to do) or say heck with it and use spruceup and encode the wave file myself with soft encode.At least then I would have 448kbs in either 5.1 or 2 channel. But if there is litte difference in 448kbs/2 channel and 256kbs/2channel, then I will just stick with DVDIT. I just wonder if Id even notice a differenc in the 2.
