  1. Sorry to sounds like a total n00b but my Sony DRU-500A arrives tomorrow, and i was just checking how i go from premiere to a DVD
    i presume as follows :-

I have captured my DVD camcorder footage in Premiere and edited as i want with transitions etc, i presume i should use the export DVD function within premiere to get an MPG2 file. Which i then import into the likes of MYDVD to author and burn?

    Thanks in advance

yes -- export as mpeg2 .. with the dvd templates found on the installation cd in extra's ... also dont forget to apply the update patch first to premiere , important !!

the update patch can be had by calling adobe tech support with your serial number and they will send you the link .. if you have not gotten it already in the email that went out..

it updates the encoder from ver 1.1 to 1.3 or so and fixes a few little problems like making a compliant file .. its all covered on the adobe premiere mpeg encoding forum

  7. Right i have exported my file, so i have an .m2v file direct from premiere, i have just previewed it using powerdvd but there is no sound.

Either from the video i captured from my camcorder or the soundtrack i have added any ideas?

A *.m2v file is MPEG2 Video only, you will need to check your sttings to get Audio and video together, or export your audio seperatly.

Use MPEG-1 Layer 2 (MP2) ans save as an *.mpa file (MPEG Audio)

Most DVD authoring apps will accept m2v + mpa files to make your DVD.

you could just render your audio out as wave also (48khz) and use that in your dvd project if you have enough room on your disk,

or convert this wave file to ac3 dolby digital with besweet (in tools)
