  1. Hello

Ok i have a DVD where i have recorded a from an Analog Source to DVD
Now the original tape is gone I am just left with DVD, i need to be able to convert VOB to MPEG2 stream so i can import it into something like Pinnacle Studio 8 to do some editing.

Please help me how to do that.
VOB are not ecrypted or anything like that, it's a home video that was recorded to DVDR

    Thanks

  2. That's easy:
Use Smartrippers "Stream Processing" and "Demux to extra file" feature with every stream you would like to extract from the VOBs.
The result is a seperate lossless video (*.M2V) and audio (*.AC3) file after ripping your (selfmade-) DVD.

Vobedit 0.6 will also do this for you.

If you want to convert a vob to and mpg use Tmpeg's Mpeg Tools option. Just load your vob into it's simple remux and it will create an mpg.
If your vob is on a DVD disk you need to rip to your HD a sone large file.

  6. Hello

Sorry what is remux ? I don;t see that option in TMPEG
I tried simple Miltiplex option and got 2 files m2v and wav

when i try to reencode those back, it tells me that it does not accept PCM stream so I am really cofused

I really would appriciate some simple intructions on how to do it

  7. DVD2AVI would also do this for you.

It creates a "fake" AVI that points to the vobs.

As with most video editing you would have to re-encode anyway.

maybe not if you only are gone do some cut and join.

Sorry, remux is shorthand for multiplex. In Tmpeg select Mpeg tools, simple multiplex. Navigate to your vob file and it will load the video and audio into the input boxes and an mpg file into the output box. Click run and it will create an mpg from the vob.

  9. Thank you for replies

    It's clear to me now

The only thing is that I get a *.wav PCM file
Which TMPEG does not allow to to reencode back
says lik PCM is not supported

I guess I need to to transfer it to AC3 somehow
    any idea's how ?

But thanks for your help anyway
