  2. hi. if it is a 780mb avi it is more than likely divx or xvid. you may want to check into xcd. you can make a bin cue file of your 780mb divx and burn it in mode 2. you can get around 800mb of divx video onto a 700mb cdr. i just recently started using xcd format and will never look back. as far as my divx movies go. i can now fit a 2hour divx movie i encoded myself onto 1 cdr. at good quality and it plays very nice on a tv out.

    check out this link http://www.radlix.com/~dxl/800mb_cd.htm

it took maybe 3 minutes to download the software you will need. and seeing that the avi/divx file is already encoded just drag it in the prgram window than let it make the iso file. then use fireburner to burn the file.
read all the info very carefuly and understand that this is very new and there are bound to be bugs all over th place but i havent rean into any so far.

hope all that helps. .see ya.

  3. Split it with virtualdub, and don't bother reencoding, and loosing quality. The DivX will look better anyways for it's not converted again and you keep full resolution... I never came across a (X)VCD I ever liked at all. (X)SVCD's are ok, so is CVD...

  4. if your not gonna reencode i still suggest using the xcd method so you can fit your movie on one 700mb cdr **without reencoding** no need to split it if you dont have too!!!! using xcd will not reencode your file just makes it able to be burnt in mode 2 therefor allowing you to put 800mb on a 700mb cdr. ((it does NOT reencode your file)) ((it does not make it a vcd)) it simply allows you to fit more of your divx/xvid on one cdr. it does not change it in any way shape or form. you will still have your divx file as it was when you got it.

xcd not xvcd or xsvcd. xcd <- read up on it youll like it.

it puts your divx in .dat form just like vcdeasy/nero puts your mpeg in .dat form
