EDIT: Not sure I am using correctly. Is this filter to be loaded as a filter during capture or is it to be used somehow to post process the file. I would prefer to capture without filters if and apply the filters later maybe during encoding if that is possible for this filter. My concern is if I apply filters during capture then any other filter I wish to try would be "filtering" a filtered file and may not work properly.
Now as for settings what would you recommend. This may be different for different sources I would assume but maybe not:
The three I am playingwith are:
Which Check boxes?
- 8mm to VCD (this is my major first project-Family movies)
VHS tapes To CVD ( Second project these are family movies )
TV programs to CVD
It looks like I want the interlace box "checked" since all my sources and the fact that I am capturing at 352x480 gives me an interlaced AVI.
Threshold=?
Radii X= ?? and Y= ??
Thanks

Almost all denoise filters are used in post-processing. I wonder if there is anyone uses them on the fly.
Personally I am not too familiar with 2D Cleaner. But from my experience, following setting is not a bad place to start: threshold=20, x=3, y=3. You should play around with different settings to see which one yields best result. In denoising, there is no one "best setting" for all sources. In fact, you also should test some Avisynth denoising filters, such as Convolution 3D, SmoothHiq, Temporal Smoother, etc. They are more up-to-date and faster.
