I am recording Star Trek episodes to DVD-RW on my stand alone Pioneer DVR-7000 and then ripping to the harddrive so I can add menu buttons before I burn. The problem is that the episodes are off center. There is a small black bar to the left and a large one to the right. The DVR-7000 is set to record 4:3. Should I be recording to 16:9 or is there another problem. I don't want to encode to correct the problem as the episodes are already the right size to fit on the disk.

I had the same fault pal when I started ripping my DVDs. They seemed to be slightly off centre to the right. I downloaded the latest version of Smart Ripper and now the problem has stopped. If this doesn't work I would suggest trying DVD Dycriptor (More than likely mis-spelt).
If you are interested in trading any DVDs then PM me or send me an e-mali and we'll sort something out.Just Too Thick :(
