Pal movies are normally interlaced ,but the one i have that im encoding to svcd is progressive,so should i encode the svcd to progressive as i read in another post that not all players can play progressive,but if this was the case how would players play the original movie.?
Bitrate viewer says its progressive ,except the first 300 frames(the first warner logo)is interlaced.

Im not fully sure, but I think what you have there is a capture from film to digital video, the logo then added after the capture.
what is the movie?
I as a rule of thumb always encode to what ever format i put in, ie If its ntsc film I encode it to ntsc film vcd. changing frame rates can seriously mess things up.The Hellsing family will purify this world...
