    Which dvd writer you have?

I have a Sony DRU-500A with 1.0d firmware, Nero 5.9.9.17, using DVD Decrypter, and IFOEdit to rip DVD movies.

I bought Princo DVD-R 1X Gen4 at the following site:

with the white glossy top and could not get pass the 5% burning mark. Wasted 5 out of 5 DVD-Rs.

After that I'm using Ritek DVD-R 1X at the following site: WORKS GREAT BUT ONLY 1X

Your Nero was 5.9.9.17.0 (first version) or 5.9.9.17.1 (releast 11.6) ?

Could you please post Manufacturer ID (using ADVDInfo) if you still have some media ?

And if disk have some number on it, could you please post it too ?

I am asking becaouse I was able to burn Princo from Meritline.com but I had only 1 pc and Allmediaoutlet.com are cheaper. (BTW, data size was 3.95GB).

I bought a 100 bundle of the Pringo white DVD-RWs on ebay several months ago when I first started this DVD ripping journey. I've had very inconsistent results with them. Part of my problem may come from the fact that the 1st two Pioneer burners I bought from ESBuy would not work and I used 30 or 40 of the disks trying to get them to work.

I finally bit the bullet and bought a firewire enclosure Pioneer burner so I could use it with my faster processor laptop. The disks I had tried I erased and those are the ones for the most part that have caused problems.

I've had movies that wouldn't play past 2/3s of the way through or would not let you skip ahead to chapters. Also had pauses later in the disk with the movie resuming after a 5 to 10 second pause.

I have bought some gold private-label DVD-R from ESBuy for about $2 each that I am going to use for movies I want to keep for a really long time. I understand the white face disks have a shorter shelf life. Don't know if that is true or not.
