I would like to express my appreciation to this Forum and its Members for providing an abundance of essential information to facilitate the Ripping of DVD to VCD!
Now for my 1st Question:
I am attempting to rip Das Boot (Region 2 PAL), to MPEG1 using the same Settings as used in other successful Rips, but am having Problems getting TMPGEnc to read the WAV File in an attempt to create a MPG File.
Tools used so far in ripping Das Boot are SmartRipper and DVD2AVI.

Ok
"DAS BOOT" i take it's the English DUB version.
Right you've used smartripper to copy all the vob's to your hard drive, you've DVD2AVI and used VFAPI to create a Pusuedo AVI.
Have you used GRAPHEDIT or VOB2AUDIO to extract the audio from the VOB's, if you haven't i suggest that you try that and then see if tmpegnc loads your wav file.
Thats what i do when i'm making a DVD to MPEG film and it works all the time.
Be aware make sure you have enough room left on your harddrive for the extracted wav file because it more that likely be over 1 gb in size,
Alternatively when you use GRAPH EDIT or VOB2AUDIO just choose to make an mp3 instead of a wav file then you do not have to worry about not having enough room.
Here's a link that will tell you how to use GRAPHEDIT
http://www.digital-digest.com/nickyguides/audio-extract.htm
And if you want to know how to use VOB2AUDIO goto doom9's site here
http://www.doom9.net/
and look under the guides section/divx/sbcnandub/audio extraction.
Or possibly there could be something wrong with TMPEGnc so why not delete it making sure you uninstalled the vfapi plugin, then reinstall it.
Hope that helps ya Man. -
Thank you marvel2020!
It is the English Dub Version.
I'll look into using GRAPHEDIT or VOB2AUDIO.
Space isn't a problem so far, so I'll keep trying to create a working WAV File.
TMPEGnc is OK, ripped Dog Day Afternoon after trying Das Boot with no problem.
