Hi,
I just bought a JVC XV-S30BK for the purpose of playing SVCD/VCD's that I burn on my computer. However, when I try to play the movies, they constantly freeze for a second, throughout . This makes play very jerky and action scenes are almost unwatchable.
Am I doing something wrong? Is there a way around this or a setting I need to adjust? The guys at Circuit City told me this model is fully SVCD/VCD capable, so it should work.

The same thing happened to me at the same store about the Panasonic RP62. My year old Samsung plays them fine, but not this one.
Take it back and get something new.

Can you recommend some other player that would work flawlessly with my VCD/SVCD's? I have 30 days to return the current JVC.

I have the same problem with a JVC XV-S502Sl I just purchased for the same reason. When I took the CD-R that I had burned with Pinnacle Expression to Circuit City and explained the problem he tried it in their display sample and yes the same problem. Then he tried it in a Panasonic model and the VCD displayed beautifully. To me there is an obvious software/hardware compatibility problem here. Before returning hardware perhaps it's wise to evaluate different software burning of the VCDs. At least that's what I'm falling back to
