  1. When do I have to use AVI-DivX or MPEG? Generally my final targer are movies that I will play from my PC or from CD.

  2. Divx (mpeg-4) is more compressed than mpeg-1 resulting in more data that can be fit onto one CD. However, DVIX can't be played on a DVD player (only on a computer).

  3. Well, there is no "right" and "wrong" answers to this one. There are many factors, and it's also about preferences. If you have a DVD burner, go for mpeg2 Then, otherwise, if it's going to be played from a PC, I make DVD rips to DivX that look very good (not these one disc low bitrate/resolution things you see on the net).
