  1. I capture in avi format so I have more editing flexibility. Historically I have used BT848 cards that had onboard Indeo\Ligos realtime compression. Indeo requires YUV9 format. When I install XP, YUV9 seems to dissapear. I have found drivers that enable the TV Tuner and I can capture 32 bit uncompressed video no problem. But it’s when I try to capture in Indeo that I don’t have the option because I have no YUV9. I have tried installing it to no avail. I even downloaded Ligos XP drivers and still no go. I know I can capture in Indeo in XP because I have done it before, but now I just can’t reproduce it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Secondly, I have always used Indeo as my codec because it was real time compression, and I felt that it has the most widely compatible playback codec. Is that sound reasoning? I noticed on Ligos site that they seem to be suggesting that XP no longer bundles their codecs. What is the best codec for capturing in avi with my hardware, for CDROM based multimedia video playback on a PC. Basicaly I am less concerned with Hi Quality then I am compatibility. I want to hand people a CD that they can pop in any windows based PC and have the video playback with no hassles. Any thoughts on that. But, my firts question about the YUV9 is most important, I think. Thanks in advance. Jake

  2. Sorry, I meant to say YVU9 not YUV9... Anyone have any suggestions at all? I installed a haugpauge Win TV driver and I had the yvu9 option but after I rebooted I lost them and it messed up my tv tuner driver, which incidentally is an STB TV PCI... Somebody help me out, I know there's some people here a lot smarter then me, thjats why I posted... Jake
