I have a Pioneer 104 DVD-R/RW burner with firmware 1.33. The problem is that I cannot burn anything over 4(or maybe 3.97) gigabyte of data on my Ritek dvd-rs or Memorex dvd-rws. I am using PrimoDVD 2.0 and Nero for burning.

use UDF 1.5 or above file system and it will burn files over 4 gig in size ..
i had the same problem .. if you use UDF 2.0 though (which will burn them no problem) i couldnt read them on win2k w/ the pioneer but they worked fine on a dvd-ram? generic player in some pc running win2k and on winxp .. UDF 1.5 seemed no problem..
this only worked with nero btw i think -- or the other way around .. one of them would not except the file no mater what ... cant remember which -
But it can be a problem with the shitty 1.33 fw too (and the media in some cases)!!
I cannot recommend the 1.33 official or patched.
Downgrade back to 1.31 official of patched 2x4all, they seem to be the best ones for the x04!! 8) -
1.33:
Too many well-used brands are only available be written at 1x speed, some bring only coasters.
Seems to be working well only with a few "expensive" mediatypes and gives several problems for many users using with e.g. xp... -
Just a thought ... If you are using Windows 9x rather than NT, XP or Win 2000, there is a limit on filesize at ... 4 gig...

The filesize is no more a problem with the latest version of burningprogs like Nero. They check that and split the files, you dont need to do anything for that...
