Hello I am trying to convert some of my cartoons to the DIVX format. I hav about 100 cartoons I want to store in that format so I can eventually burn them to a DVD in the future.. The tapes are getting to be rather lousy so I want to save them now..
Reason I am going DIVX is I understand I can get good quality and small files so I can store multiple episodes to a CDR.
I have a WIN TV PCI card and have been learning Virtual Dub to get this done. I followed the main page guide, but I always get stuck ont he last step.
"Now Close the Capture.
Open the Captured DivX.
Select under Video->Direct Stream Copy.
Select under Audio->Full Processing.
Select under Audio->Compression and select DivX or MPEG3 128kbits 44100hz.
Select under File->Sava AVI and save as new Divx.
Done. "
<From Capture Guides>
My problem is that once I have the .avi using Divx compression I understand I have to dub it again Isuppose to compress the audio which is rather larger, but when I follow those four simple steps and the dubbing begins it just sits there blank screened I don't get a preview and only the time number moves.. What am I doing wrong has anyone dealt with this?
Any assistance would be awesome..
Hope I explained it right..
