  1. I am capturing video using PVR-250 using the DVD standard play setting.

the resulting MPEG-2 Video is perfectly insync.

I am then using DVD2AVI to framerate then TMpegEnc to encode to MPEG1-VCD, the result mpg is now out of sync !

    can anybody help ?

Create a custom MPEG capture and select Program rather than DVD. This combined with downloading all the latest beta drivers from Hauppauge or shspvr.com helped solve all my sync problems. I haven't tried it but it can capture directly to VCD mode but you would probably get better results recording in high bitrate mpeg2 and then re-encode down to VCD spec. If you are doing this I would suggest recording in MPEG2 at 12000bits CBR mode - that way you are putting maximum bits into the source file.

  3. the reply seems to work partly , the MPEG2 video is still in sync , when I re-encode to MPEG-1 VCD , the sound starts off in-sync , then after 30 minutes audio goes off sync.

    can anybody help ???

I can't be of much more help except ask what you are capturing from - is it VHS? When I solved all my sync issues using later drivers and program option I still get occasional problems with poor quality VHS captures. I read on various forum posts that a time based corrector is required for bad VHS captures, which too expensive for my needs.

I no longer get sync issues with TV captures or commercial VHS film back-ups, but I do with some, not all, of my earlier analogue VHS camcorder tapes - I was even daft enough to create some in long play - duh ! Long before I knew about digital video of course !!

    Hi...
With VHS sync Prob. You can use FlaskMpg to save an avi (I uses huffyuv Encoder)
It remove my VHS-sync problems with the pvr-250.

    Fede Pede....

Ps. do not remux the mpg2 files first.
