    Is there an easy way to convert SVCD streams to DVD compatable streams? The only thing I want to do to the stream is change the resolution from 480x480 to 352x480. I don't want to reencode the whole movie but that appears to be what I have to do.

    Instead of reencoding, is there a simpler step to change the resolution?

    You must reencode/transcode if you want to change the resolution. You could make a xdvd with svcd resolution if you dont want to reencode, www.vcdhelp.com/svcddvdr
