  1. When playing a VCD or SVCD on my home DVD, player that I created, and burn with Nero, the GOTO function (function that allows to go to a specific time point in the movie) seems to be deactivated, altough it works fine with other VCD movies that I own, created by someone else. In the DVD playing mode, that function also works fine, so I think that is a
software problem, related to the VCD files that Nero automatically creates.
One thing I've noticed, this function is active in a VCD 1.0 movie (old movie), but inactive in VCD 2.0 (last VCD's that I created with Nero

Am I wrong or right about this problem?
    How can I solve it?

    Thanks,
    Nuno

I think that the GOTO function doesn't work if you burn your VCD's with PBC (PlayBack Control). The reason why VCD 1.0 can use the GOTO function is that it doesn't have PBC, while VCD 2.0 does for chapters and menus. Also, try burning with VCDEasy. It can burn a VCD 2.0 without PBC.

    Hope That Helps!!! :P

Try searching for "GOTO" if you need more help. :P

I can jump to any point on my vcd or svcd's with just typing in the time i want to jump to. i dont think its a vcd 2.0 problem its more of a stand alone player problem.

  5. When you insert your VCD into your player, rather than pressing play press 1 (to play track 1), now see if you can enter a time to goto.

SLBOSS926 is right, it's more of a stand-a-lone problem, thanks for correcting me. :P

  7. This is just how your player works.

"GOTO" is not in the VCD specs but many players have a similar function. On both my players, I can use the "GOTO" function for both VCD1.1 and VCD2.0 (in PBC mode), but the player switches off PBC interpretation after you do so. This is the more common way for players to act.

Obviously, for your player, you can't actually use "GOTO" unless the player is already NOT in PBC mode (either, turned off or you are making a PBC-less VCD2.0 or VCD1.1).

All the common VCD authoring programs make VCD2.0 by default. You can use VCDImager to make VCD1.1, however.

You can try using VCDImager Tools GUI --> VCDIMAGER to create a CUE/BIN image of a VCD1.1 disc. Then, you can burn the CUE/BIN image with a number of burning proggies.
