  1. Hello

    My tools
A good pc (AMD XP 1600+ with 512 Ram etc etc NTFS etc)
    Pioneer 104
    Adobe Premier 6.0
    Ulead Visual Studio ?.?
    Pinnacle Expresion ?.?
    JVC 157 DigiVideoCam
    Primo DVD
    RecordNOw Max
    Nero 5.5.9.?

I have captured 1 hour of digicam material. The size was 13 GB.

I edited the video. The result was a 12.2 GB file that i exported with Adobe as a PAL Microsoft DVI file. (audio was exported separately aslo as a MS DVI audio file)

I tried Pinnacle and Ulead to convert the avi to something i can use to burn the DVD with.
I tried burning the 3.2 GB iso and img file using Primo and Record now but i get garbage image. The sound is good but the image is with a lot of lines and upside down. I can barely see something. My standalone dvd player (Himage 808) won't even read it.
I tried dragging and dropping the 3 dvd file (ifo, vob and something else) in Nero but then i get an error saying that the reallocation of the dvd movie files failed.
Also, how come i can't get 4 hours of good quality video on a DVD. I export 1 hour (60 minute) of 25FPS PAL MS DVI avi file and create an image of that using either Pinnacle or Ulead and i get a very big file (more than half the dvd)

Am i doing something wrong ? How can i get the MS DVI avi file on a VideoDVD ?

    HELP ME PLEASE !!

the msdv codec is not very good at all -- first ... use mainconcept DV codec instead .. or canopus is one of the best.

then as other poster suggested -- use another app for mpeg compression ..

  4. But why does the canopus conversion give me separate files ?
