This looks like a scam, but can anyone confirm it?

I've seen it on many other websites too and eBay seems to have a bunch of them available.

I've seen these personally, the person who had it claimed it Was a Laserdisk rip of some sort, they look pretty good and have menus. But then there might be several versions out there.
On a side note I had a co worker try and order a set of ebay and the seller just dropped of the face of the planet, so proceed at your own risk. -
a friend of mine has the trilogy set. they look legit. only thing is, they've got subtitles in Mandarin Chinese across the bottom of the screen. he's a big Star Wars collector, so having them in his collection was bigger than having something watchable...

Easiest way to check: Look at the companies website to see if they are offering it. If they are not, then I bet it is a copy.

I bought Empire Strikes Back from www.getvcds.com
It is a Laserdisc transfer from the special edition to DVD. It has DD 5.1 andis letterboxed widescreen 2.35:1
Quality is about VCD or better. -
The legitimate copy of Star Wars Trilogy DVD is not available in the US and anywhere around the world. It is a scam and this is a bootleg copy.
You have to wait until 2006 to get the real thing from George Lucas. -

Yes, they are professionally made bootlegs.
Its funny to see them sell for $45, when on EBAY, they often sell for $100 or more... hmmm...
The giveaway is the DTS track- Lucas has never made, and says there WILL NEVER be any DTS track on any Star Wars DVDs. (The reason is that he partially owns THX, which competes with DTS, which Speilberg partially owns).
The DTS track is made from the THX-Dolby track, and sounds worse, since it is compresses twice.
These were ripped from non-SE THX LDs, and have removable subs. Other professional boots are made from VHS, and even TV sources. I would suggest getting the VCDs.
The VCDs are 100% legal, and usually sell for $15. They are in 2.0 surround, and the SE versions, and look pretty good..... at least until the DVDs (or HD-DVDs) come out!
