Hey I am having some major problems with quality on my VHS to VCD capturing. I have the ati all in wonder 8500DV card and have tried capturing using both the TV capture and Ulead software. I use the standard VCD capture quality but I'm having issues. I dont loose any frames during capture but the video looks pretty bad. I know it has a lot to do with the source but I have tried capturing real VHS movies just for testing purposes. I have even tired capturing at higher quality(DVD) but they all turn out about the same. Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated.
My comp is Giga board, 2.2ghz P4 chip, 160GB HD running WinXP.
One more thing does the VCR have anything to do with it? Maybe using a better quality VCR?

VCR has a lot to do with it, the condition of the tapes too. Keep in mind you're not gonna get DVD like quality at all. It might look surprising the first time. Virtualdub is the only program I use to capture. Works excellent.

Yea, I'm not looking for DVD quality. I just have seen alot of captures and most of them look a lot better than mine. Maybe I'll try another VCR, a better one.
